Animal care is particularly suitable for those with veterinary training, however most organisations do not require it. While the tasks you will be given will, of course, depend on your level of skill and prior experience, training will often be provided throughout to make sure that the animals are handled correctly and that your time is well spent.

These positions are often available in both developing and western countries, you may even find one right around the corner (animal shelters etc). Most volunteers will be looking for something exotic, however the demand for positions taking care of sea turtles, elephants, monkeys etc are quite big so remember to get that application in on time!
