Volunteering With India

I would like to pass on what an amazing experience it is in Jaipur with the awesome elephants. I was made to be so welcome by all, from the coordinators to the fab mahouts. Tutarum ji who picked us up from our guest house was a real character and always made sure we found plenty of drinking holes for a lovely cup of real Indian chai, we had chance to go to teach the children at a school. They were such a great bunch of kids, and very clever.I was invited to two weddings and they were very colourful and lively. I didn't have to worry about anything accommodation was seen to and All I had to worry about was getting up on time!!
If I could I would do it all again.
If you love history Jaipur has lots to offer. Thanks Suret and Govind and Tutarum Ji for making it the best experience ever.....

I volunteered with elephants in Jaipur this January. It was an amazing experience for me,did for 3 weeks, I think that's the longest anyone has done so far? Everyone on the program was great from the mahuts to the co coordinator. Granted it is a very early start but that is just how it is. You get lots of free time to see some amazing places and people in lovely Jaipur.
I made lots of friends, and the best of all is the time with the gorgeous elephants.
I am not a youngster but I would definitely do it all again. I would recommend to anyone who loves elephants, added bonus was visiting the tiger sanctuary :-)

I had the chance to be a volunteer at VWI and I must say that I had a great time with them. Truly a very reputable and nice organization. So come and volunteer too.

I volunteered with VWI for four weeks in Juli, and I had a really great experience! I volunteer with the elephants, but I also got to see some of the other places.
I was hard work, both physicaly and mentaly, and if you volunteer in the summertime I would recommend you to go with a friend, because you have a lot of spare time.
But I had a really good time, I got to meet a lot of very nice people and to experience a really different and beautifull culture. The people on the project are very nice to include you in the Indian life, and the Indian people is very friendly.
And the elephants are amazing!

This was my first experience volunteering, and VWI made it an awesome one.
We met some amazing people and had the chance to experience real life in India (we were lucky enough to go to a wedding and meet elephants!) The children we worked with were so eager to learn and show and play that it was a pleasure being with them.
